We hear climate change is getting worse on a daily basis. It’s indeed concerning, but so much bad news on the environment might have the opposite effect – many of us decide not to care while we should actually be taking action. Sometimes we think that our efforts towards greener living will be lost among so many sources of environmental harm. In reality, such a “what’s the point?” attitude can only make the situation worse.
If we change our approach we will be able to look at the environmental issues from another perspective. Our planet suffers but it’s not all doom and gloom. There is hope and the truth is that by taking action together – or actually, even easier: each of us individually – we can ensure cleaner living conditions for future generations.
Every little step is one step closer to achieving a healthy planet. With the increased awareness and future advancements in technology, we can expect that in the next years it will be easier to live in balance with the planet and its resources.
The following infographics show the optimistic scenario which can become a reality if we all care and act. The data is based on industry predictions within the most important fields: transportation, use of energy, plastic and waste, recycling and palm oil.
Fossil fuels are still widely used in transportation but the pressure is growing and oil reserves are finite. With the rapidly developing electric vehicle and biofuel industries they will be replaced with alternative clean fuels. Recycling will hopefully become more efficient once automation and robotics are applied on a bigger scale.
Thanks to the new eco-friendly governmental policies waste will be managed in a more sustainable way. This will reduce pollution and save a lot of money. More than anything, however, it’s all about what we can do today.
