Every day, we throw out several wrappers, containers and other items that are no longer of use. The act of disposal might seem as simple as putting something in a trash can, but where does it go from there?
This infographic from Cleaning Services Group (https://www.cleaningservicesgroup.co.uk/) attempts to answer that very question by exploring several categories of waste and detailing what happens to it after we’ve finished with it. While the average household generates a huge amount of waste each year, at least we have become far more environmentally conscious about its disposal. Where once it seemed that almost all our waste ended up in landfill, now it is much more likely to be recycled and repurposed wherever possible.
Obviously some waste will need to be sent to landfill regardless, but most landfill sites have now been modernised to regulated facilities where waste is dealt with in as eco-friendly a manner as achievable.
